Practical guide
How to set up business email records
Publish provider-approved sender records and verify alignment before enabling delivery.
List approved email senders
List every system allowed to send transactional, security or marketing mail. Give each role a clear From address and return-path design before adding DNS records.
Publish SPF, DKIM and DMARC records
- Keep one SPF policy for a host name and combine only the senders that are actually authorized there.
- Copy each DKIM selector and value from the service that controls its signing key.
- Add DMARC with an address and policy your team can monitor; tighten the policy only after legitimate sources align.
Test email authentication results
A DNS record can exist while a message still fails alignment. Use a bounded seed delivery to verify the visible From domain, SPF result, DKIM signature, DMARC result and expected tracking behavior for each sending role.
Monitor email delivery and complaints
- Scope API credentials to the required sender and capability where the provider supports it.
- Keep security and requested transactional mail separate from optional marketing consent.
- Process bounces, complaints and suppression before increasing delivery volume.
